Our Approach

Therapeutic approach:

My orientations include person-centered therapy, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT). Some of my earlier memories involve observing my parents modeling interpersonal skills as a medical doctor and similarly through my professional career.

When working with a client I like to utilize unconditional positive regard, genuineness and empathy. I have come to observe that people do change within the context of how people relate to them. I would usually utilize CBT with client experiencing depression and anxiety by exploring some cognitive restructuring around thoughts, to form more realistic thoughts and beliefs given the situation. It also helps when working with diverse client population, to confront their thoughts and belief patterns and examine how these affect their other emotional problems.

Other therapeutic approach used include solution focused brief therapy, motivational therapy, family systems therapy, EMDR.

My knowledge in multiple approach allows me to tailor therapy to fit each client's need.
